Hawthorne barely beat Newberry the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets blew past the Panthers 32-7 on Friday. Hawthorne found their leader in sophomore Richard Roundtree Jr, who threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Darian Bowie was Roundtree Jr's top target, picking up 113 receiving yards and one TD.
