Purvis scored a full 37.5% of Thales Academy Apex's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Justin Brown was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Thales Academy Apex struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as GRACE Christian pulled down 17.
GRACE Christian found their leader in underclassman Michael Phillips II, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 0 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Phillips II has scored at least 25% of GRACE Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Steven McLeod, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Thales Academy Apex now has a losing record at 4-5. As for GRACE Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Thales Academy Apex will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Coastal Christian at 6:45 p.m. Coastal Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.2 points per game. As for GRACE Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against St. David's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. David's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
