The Cedar Grove Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Weequahic 48-43. Cedar Grove was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Weequahic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weequahic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hekeimu Williams, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds. Bart Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Cedar Grove has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Weequahic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Grove will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Glen Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on January 20th. As for Weequahic, they will take on Barringer at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
