2A/1A Southern Piedmont recap Oct. 30, 2012
Lake Norman Charter's Alex Scearce rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A/1A Southern Piedmont this season in his game against Highland Tech last week. Scearce's team bested Highland Tech as he sprinted for 90 yards on the play and finished with 90 in all.
East Lincoln extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Cherryville, 63-6. This was the team's 11th consecutive win.
Bob McKay's team's dynamic duo of Michael Dorsainvil and Scearce proved tough for Jerry Jordan's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dorsainvil threw for 129 yards and four touchdowns and Scearce had 97 yards receiving. Jamon Cunningham helped Lake Norman Charter's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
Damian Scott was the most productive running back in the league this week. In seven carries, he ran for 105 yards as Bessemer City topped Highland Tech. Teammate Cedric Mackey added to the ground attack by rushing for 24 yards.
Dorsainvil has thrown for 1458 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Scearce has 30 catches for 771 yards. Tripp Smith leads the league in rushing with 832 yards.
East Lincoln took down the Ironmen 63-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
