The West Perry Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Camp Hill Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Perry is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Thursday, West Perry got the win against Middletown by a conclusive 31-6. The result was nothing new for West Perry, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Camp Hill was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 14-13 to Trinity. While losing is never fun, Camp Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Trinity is ranked 136th).
Despite the defeat, Camp Hill had strong showings from Kobe Moore, who gained 113 total yards and two touchdowns, and Drew Branstetter, who threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
West Perry's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Middletown and 1-7 Boiling Springs (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.3% over those games). Camp Hill has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Everything went West Perry's way against Camp Hill when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as West Perry made off with a 42-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Perry since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
