University Prep is 8-2 against Anderson since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will challenge the Cubs at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (University Prep has four straight victories, Anderson has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither University Prep nor Lassen made it on the board until the eighth inning. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Grizzlies 3-2.
Hailey Pebley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 24 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riley Villano was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Anderson came up short against Central Valley on Tuesday, falling 28-2.
Isabel Sturges made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and one run.
University Prep's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
Anderson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Anderson, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain University Prep's hitters?
Everything went University Prep's way against Anderson in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as University Prep made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
