Wellsville is 10-0 against Osawatomie since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wellsville Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Osawatomie Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Wellsville took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 71-43 win over Perry-Lecompton. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wellsville.
Meanwhile, Osawatomie had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 60-47 win over Pleasanton. Given Osawatomie's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Pleasanton is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Tucker Fennel, who scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasper Sallee, who scored 15 points.
Wellsville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Osawatomie, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
