Meanwhile, Twin Lakes hadn't done well against Benton Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Indians came out on top against the Bison by a score of 12-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Maddy Hook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Quinn Gilford and Miya Clerget did most of the damage at the plate: Gilford went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Clerget went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Gilford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Oliver, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Twin Lakes' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Delphi Community has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Twin Lakes, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Delphi Community's sizable advantage in that area, the Indians will need to find a way to close that gap.
Delphi Community took their win against Twin Lakes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Oracles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
