The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for KIPP Denver Collegiate in their matchups with Lake County: they've now lost five in a row.
Lake County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxon Wood out in front who scored five points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks. Wood is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Jaren Peters was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
KIPP Denver Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Lake County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
KIPP Denver Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-41 loss vs. Denver Waldorf on the 10th. Lake County will head out on the road to take on Fort Lupton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
