The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Kennedy nor Arleta made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Golden Cougars walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Mustangs. The Golden Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Samantha Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Reyes was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

Reyes wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leyla Cordon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Cordon has posted since back in February. Maya Dorado also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Kennedy's record is now 4-9. As for Arleta, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will host Chavez at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Arleta, they will be playing at home against Poly at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Parrots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.42 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
