The Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 76 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Haughton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (61), Gibsland-Coleman still had to take the loss.
DeAvery Durham and Demarquis Durham certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Durham scored 35 points, while Durham scored 26 points. Durham scored a full 46.1% of Gibsland-Coleman's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Carlos Rudolph, who scored eight points.
Gibsland-Coleman has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Haughton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Gibsland-Coleman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Choudrant at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Haughton and Loyola College Prep will face off on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Loyola College Prep is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
