Softball Recap: Marathon Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Marathon waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Waupaca Comets. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Marathon pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Waupaca, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Coincidentally, Marathon and Waupaca will both be playing Iola-Scandinavia the next time they take the field. The Comets will host the Thunderbirds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Red Raiders will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
