Baseball Game Preview: Prosser Falcons vs. Rickover Naval Seadragons

For the second straight game, Prosser will face off against Rickover Naval. The Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Seadragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prosser knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Rickover Naval likes a good challenge.

While Prosser didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Rickover Naval with a sharp 20-1 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jayden Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

In other batting news, Prosser got a massive performance out of Julius Rivera, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Rivera has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. JoeNathan Ramirez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Prosser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .684. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Prosser pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Rickover Naval, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
