Clymer Central and the Red Dragons are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Clymer Central Pirates will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Maple Grove Red Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Clymer Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Clymer Central slipped by the Panthers 51-50. Given Clymer Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Panthers are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alexys Neckers was her usual excellent self, scoring 40 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clymer Central's points. Ava Nyweide was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Maple Grove lost to the Wolverines on the road by a decisive 53-36 margin back in January.
Clymer Central is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Maple Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
