Softball Recap: Childersburg Wins Going Away Against Winterboro

Childersburg's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Winterboro Bulldogs. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jade Landers looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Madison Brooks was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Kelley, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-4.

Childersburg now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Winterboro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Childersburg will challenge Winterboro at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Winterboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winterboro has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
