Central extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 14-8 in the process. They blew past the Archbishop Wood Vikings 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

As for Archbishop Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging 3.17 runs allowed.

For Archbishop Wood's part, Jimmy Casey was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zach Neeld, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Central and Archbishop Wood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Lancers (ranked 231st) will meet Carver High School of Engineering & Science (ranked 568th) at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Central's favor as the squad sits on 16 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Carver High School of Engineering & Science have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Archbishop Wood will take on Harriton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (28 vs. 421).
