Moundridge is 9-1 against the Warriors since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Moundridge Wildcats are on the road again and plays the Marion Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Moundridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
Moundridge can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match. Everything went their way against Inman as Moundridge made off with a 60-35 win. Given Moundridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Inman Teutons are ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kreighton Kanitz, who scored 18 points along with two blocks. Henry Hecox was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-38, which was the final score in Marion's tilt against the Black Bears on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marion in their matchups with the Black Bears: they've now lost five in a row.
Moundridge's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.2 points. As for Marion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Everything went Moundridge's way against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the Wildcats made off with a 65-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moundridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
