It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Poly had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 75-26 victory over the City College Black Knights. The Engineers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Poly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was London Elliot out in front who posted eight points along with seven assists and six steals. Elliot is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brianna Pope, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.
The victory (which was Poly's fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-9. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points on average over those games. As for City College, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
