The Palatka Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the St. Joseph Academy Flashes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palatka will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
While Palatka's victory against Interlachen wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Rams 5-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Rams since March 5, 2021.

04/01/25 vs Peniel Baptist Academy | 2 |
Cason Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Malloy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy got the win against Ridgeview on Monday by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Flashes, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Bodie Figeon and Cullen Garner made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Figeon tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Garner pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. At bat, Figeon scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Garner scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Figeon posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
In other pitching news, Brett Belloni looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Robshaw, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Connor Lewis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
St. Joseph Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeview only posted a batting average of .150.
St. Joseph Academy pushed their record up to 17-4-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Palatka, their record now sits at 14-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Palatka has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Palatka couldn't quite finish off St. Joseph Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
