It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Danbury had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Seneca East Tigers as they made off with a 47-24 victory. The Lakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Maci Brown was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January of 2024. Thea Brickner was another key player, putting up ten points.

Danbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Danbury's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.7 points. As for Seneca East, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Coming up, Danbury will face off against John F. Kennedy Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. John F. Kennedy Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Danbury likes a good challenge. Seneca East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
