Softball Recap: Liberty Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Liberty owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past the Centennial Titans 7-0. Considering the Redhawks have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Hanson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adeline Glatch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Terry, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Liberty will be playing at home against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redhawks are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Centennial, they will head out to take on Frisco at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raccoons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.95 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
