After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Gregory School, the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-34 win over Lincoln Prep. That's another feather in the cap for Cicero Prep Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Cicero Prep Academy to victory were Micah Thurman and David Yourkoski. Thurman scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Yourkoski dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Cicero Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Lincoln Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cicero Prep Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Phoenix Day School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Phoenix Day School for the Deaf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Lincoln Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Salome at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Salome is ranked 229th, while Lincoln Prep is ranked 248th).
