The Carol City Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dillard. While losing is never fun, Carol City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Panthers are ranked 255th).
Carol City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mikaili Taylor, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Taylor hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kimaury McGregor, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Carol City dropped their record down to 6-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Dillard, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carol City will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Somerset Academy Central Miramar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Thursday. As for Dillard, they will be playing at home against the Bucks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Deerfield Beach has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
