The Friendship Christian Commanders have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Nashville Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Friendship Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over Donelson Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for Friendship Christian, who have now won nine contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Tyson Wolcott was his usual excellent self, rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Wolcott is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Friendship Christian's defense and their ten sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Meanwhile, Nashville Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity Christian Academy on Friday, taking the game 45-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nashville Christian.
Jared Curtis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 253 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brock Haywood, who gained 130 total yards and a touchdown.
Friendship Christian pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 King's Academy and 4-7 Ezell-Harding Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Nashville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Friendship Christian commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Nashville Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Friendship Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Nashville Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 34-27. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Nashville Christian's James Warmbrod, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Friendship Christian to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
