Bishop Gorman is 9-0 against the Chargers since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Bishop Gorman Gaels will head out on the road to face off against the Clark Chargers at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Gorman has five straight wins, the Chargers have ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bishop Gorman stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They claimed a resounding 66-34 win over Spring Valley at home. Given Bishop Gorman's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Grizzlies are ranked 35th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Gorman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addysen Carr out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Carr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Chestnut, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-17, which was the final score in Clark's tilt against the Blue Knights on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clark has scored all season.
Bishop Gorman is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Clark, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Bishop Gorman strolled past the Chargers in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a score of 56-37. Does Bishop Gorman have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
