With a playoff win on the line, Hilltop rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Edon Bombers 11-0. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.
Kelsy Connolly made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Sophia Crossgrove was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kenley Routt, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
