The Rock Hill Blue Hawks will face off against the McKinney Boyd Broncos at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Monday, Rock Hill came up short against Prosper and fell 9-5.
Aliyana Sanchez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, McKinney Boyd had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-6 margin over the Panthers. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Madison Treadwell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, McKinney Boyd got a massive performance out of Addyson Lewis, who scored four runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Lewis has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckham Manley, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
McKinney Boyd kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.
McKinney Boyd's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-7. As for Rock Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rock Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like McKinney Boyd struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rock Hill might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from McKinney Boyd in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Rock Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
