The Covenant Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by Teays Valley Christian 89-54. Covenant has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Maki Cary was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with five steals for Teays Valley Christian. Cary is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Pendleton, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
Covenant has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Teays Valley Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
Covenant will face off against the at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Teays Valley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
