After a string of three wins, the Plainfield Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 37-11 loss at the hands of Lyman Memorial. Plainfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lyman Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Leading Lyman Memorial to victory were Phoebe Carpenter and Jenny Lopez. Carpenter scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Lopez almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and 15 steals. The matchup was Carpenter's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Dunnack, who scored two points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Plainfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1. As for Lyman Memorial, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield will square off against Griswold at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
