You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Southern Nash. They blew past Rocky Mount 35-14 on Friday. Southern Nash's victory was all the more impressive since Rocky Mount was averaging only 13 points allowed on the season.
Southern Nash's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 19 points in the first half. The Gryphons countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 19-7 going into the half. The offense for Southern Nash continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 16 points to put the game away.
The win for the Firebirds kept them a perfect 10-0. Rocky Mount's overall record now falls to 7-3.
Southern Nash will square off against Franklinton at 7 p.m. ET next week. Southern Nash fans better hope the squad plays one heck of a game next week as the odds are decidedly against them. As for Rocky Mount, they will face off against Northern Nash at 7 p.m. ET. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
