The Thomas Jefferson Jaguars pushed their score all the way to 70 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Uniontown. Thomas Jefferson lost against Uniontown in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 73-57 score last time.
Uniontown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tori Grooms, who scored 25 points along with 3 steals. The game was Grooms' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamire Braxton, who scored 23 points.
Thomas Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Uniontown, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Thomas Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against Steel Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Steel Valley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Uniontown, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Beaver at 7:30 p.m. Beaver has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 197 points over their last three games.
