The Canyon Springs Cougars on the road again and play against the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Canyon Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Rialto, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory.
Canyon Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Vann led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Josiah McMillan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, even though Heritage scored an imposing 65 points on Wednesday, Paloma Valley still came out on top. Paloma Valley took their game against Heritage 72-65. The win was familiar territory for Paloma Valley who now have three in a row.
Canyon Springs is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Paloma Valley, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Canyon Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Paloma Valley in their previous matchup on January 3rd, winning 57-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
