It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Jones County Coyotes ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They escaped with a win against Kadoka by the margin of a single free throw, 44-43. The team ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Jones County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaden Kinsley, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Cooper Feddersen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Kadoka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gus Stout, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Hermann, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Jones County, bringing their record for this year to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Kadoka, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Jones County will head out on the road to take on Colome at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Colome is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Kadoka, they will be playing at home against Timber Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Lake is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
