The Chester Cyclones lost against the Union County Yellowjackets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Chester fell 65-52 to Union County. Chester has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Union County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Seven Eison led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Eison continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Jeter, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Chester's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for Union County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chester will take on Emerald at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Emerald is ranked 215th, while Chester is ranked 222nd). As for Union County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
