If the Community Leadership Academy Lions were riding high off their 66-31 takedown of the Jefferson County Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Community Leadership Academy was beaten by Crossroad Academy 57-26 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Community Leadership Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while Crossroad Academy is ranked 211th).
Crossroad Academy found their leader in underclassman Camari Hale, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hale has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ja'Mari Favors, who scored four points along with four steals.
Community Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Crossroad Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community Leadership Academy will take on Chiles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Isaiah Bundrage and Bowman Holloway. As for Crossroad Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Leon at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st.
