Whitmore Lake is 8-2 against Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. While Whitmore Lake's victory against Clarenceville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Whitmore Lake narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Clarenceville 4-3. The victory continues a trend for Whitmore Lake in their matchups with Clarenceville: they've now won six in a row.
George Parkhurst was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Abla, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Eagles 9-1.
Mickey Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aspen Jendrusik, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Cole Dryer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Whitmore Lake's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Whitmore Lake has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
