Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Venice Gondoliers walked away with it. They blew past Huntington Park 55-7 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Venice was led to victory by Eric Bell and Jaiden Noel. Bell picked up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Noel threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Kenyon Alexander got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Huntington Park's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Noah Mancillas and Christopher Wooley. Mancillas rushed for 108 yards on only ten carries, while Wooley rushed for 62 yards on only eight carries.
Venice has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Huntington Park, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Venice will face off against Crenshaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Crenshaw's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games. Huntington Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
