Norton has gone a perfect 4-0 against Blackstone Valley RVT recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lancers will face off against the Beavers at 4:00 p.m. Norton knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Blackstone Valley RVT likes a good challenge.
Norton came out on top against Bellingham on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run first inning. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Blackhawks. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Liana Danubio made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Norton got a massive performance out of Talia Faria, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Faria continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Tinkham, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Norton lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Blackstone Valley RVT came up short against Notre Dame Academy on Wednesday and fell 10-5. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Like Norton, Blackstone Valley RVT also got a great game from a two-way player: Anya Hruzd. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Hruzd was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Brooke Gniadek made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Norton's record is now 14-1-1. As for Blackstone Valley RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Norton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Blackstone Valley RVT struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Norton got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in June of 2025 against Blackstone Valley RVT by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
