The Boca Ciega Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to St. Petersburg 55-50. Boca Ciega lost against St. Petersburg in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-37 score last time.
St. Petersburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quay Curry out in front who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Kevina Le, who scored 14 points.
Boca Ciega bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Petersburg, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Boca Ciega will be playing at home against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Petersburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Indian Rocks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
