Softball Recap: Coastal Academy's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Coastal Academy was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of La Jolla Country Day last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Coastal Academy came up short against the Escondido Charter Tigers on Wednesday, falling 15-9. The loss continues a trend for the Stingrays in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Therese Frazer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and 13 unearned) runs on 12 hits.

At the plate, Delylah Ordman was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Alvarez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Coastal Academy fell to 3-1. As for Escondido Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Coastal Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against Escondido on the 21st. As for Escondido Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-2 victory against Bishop's on the 20th.
