The Hidden Valley Titans will face off against the Cave Spring Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hidden Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
If Hidden Valley beats Cave Spring with six runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Titans skirted past Blacksburg 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.
The team relied heavily on Wyatt Clarke, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of William Woodson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cave Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin County.
Evan Lee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Cave Spring's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Sam Urgo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Cave Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Hidden Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Cave Spring's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hidden Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Cave Spring, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Hidden Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hidden Valley skirted past Cave Spring 8-7 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
