The Everett Warriors will head out to take on the Northern Bedford County Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Everett is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Berlin Brothersvalley on Monday as Everett made off with an 11-1 win. The Warriors not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2024.
Everett got a big performance out of Chase Sherwood, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, Sherwood posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lane Whitfield, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Everett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berlin Brothersvalley only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Northern Bedford County won against Meyersdale on Thursday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Northern Bedford County came out on top in a nail-biter against Fannett Metal, sneaking past 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Reece Musselman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Northern Bedford County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Bowers, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Carter Watson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Northern Bedford County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Everett, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Everett skirted past Northern Bedford County 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Everett repeat their success, or does Northern Bedford County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
