Baseball Recap: Glenwood Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Glenwood extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-8 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Pleasant Plains Cardinals. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly three runs.

Andrew Wahlbrink looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grady Mueller was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Glenwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Plains only posted a batting average of .259.

As for Pleasant Plains, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-7. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Pleasant Plains' side, they got a good showing from Taylor Brewer, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Brewer has allowed since back in April.

On the hitting side, Trager Shultz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Coming up, Glenwood will challenge Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. Pleasant Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
