The Powdersville Patriots and the Habersham Central Raiders will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Powdersville will be strutting in after a victory while Habersham Central will be coming in after a defeat.
Powdersville can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 41-25 win over Travelers Rest. The squad ran away with 33 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Powdersville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amari Rambert, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Makayla Assemian, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Habersham Central's 19-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against White County on Friday, falling 77-33. Habersham Central has not had much luck with White County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Powdersville's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Habersham Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Powdersville took a serious blow against Habersham Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 68-18. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Powdersville was down 38-5.
