Banning Lewis Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were dealt a 61-13 defeat at the hands of Colorado Springs Christian. While losing is never fun, Banning Lewis Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Colorado Springs Christian is ranked 44th).
Elany Canada was Banning Lewis Academy's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Meanwhile, Rye's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Peyton on the road and fell 100-24. Rye was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 69-9.
Banning Lewis Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Rye, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Banning Lewis Academy came up short against Rye in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 43-39. Can Banning Lewis Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
