Hydaburg is 0-10 against Klawock since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hydaburg Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Klawock Chieftains. Hydaburg is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Hydaburg put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Hoonah as Hydaburg made off with a 58-36 victory.
Meanwhile, even though Non Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, Klawock still came out on top. Klawock walked away with a 73-64 victory over Non Varsity Opponent.
It was another big night for Marley Kness, who scored 40 points along with eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Skan-Allen, who scored 11 points.
The victory got Hydaburg back to even at 4-4. As for Klawock, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Hydaburg might still be hurting after the 63-41 defeat they got from Klawock when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kness, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
