The Central Valley Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They lost to Oroville at home by a decisive 53-39 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Central Valley of the 53-50 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.
Central Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kanin Harris, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Webster, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Brayden Campbell was a one-man wrecking crew for Oroville as he scored 13 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Campbell grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Jantzen Demitrial, who scored 11 points.
Central Valley's defeat was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Oroville, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-13.
Central Valley will take on West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Oroville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Las Plumas at 7:30 p.m. Las Plumas has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 256 points over their last four matches.
