Elberta took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Citronelle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Wildcats on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Elberta's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Citronelle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Elberta and Citronelle could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 270th) will meet Gulf Shores (ranked 35th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Citronelle will square off against Mobile Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (287 vs. 87).
