Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winthrop College Prep Academy). They blew past the Cristo Rey Tampa Panthers 5-2 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

They hit Cristo Rey Tampa with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sebastian Machado (2), Jeremy Jorge, Samuel Peguero, and Sael Peguero.

Winthrop College Prep Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-7-4. As for Cristo Rey Tampa, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Winthrop College Prep Academy will take on Hudson in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cristo Rey Tampa and St. Petersburg Catholic will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Petersburg Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.
