The Pelion Panthers lost against the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Pelion was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to Blackville-Hilda. Pelion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blackville-Hilda's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Breyanna Williams , who scored eight points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Eva Sapp, who scored 11 points along with seven steals.
Pelion has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Blackville-Hilda, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelion will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Williston-Elko at 9:00 a.m. on December 27th. Blackville-Hilda won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ridge Spring-Monetta at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th.
